Hi,
1. My eth0 is being detected as coming off my firewire interface instead
of the 8139too. I had to had edit the config to fix the problem. (The
base system install had it right and the /etc/modules.conf is also
configured correctly)
As usual, what have you changed exactly ?
I changed the /var/lib/www-naat/configuration file to fix the problem.
( the driver and and mac address for eth0 were set to the actual network
interface.)
Thank you, this reminded me to change the modules.conf to modprobe.conf in
the backend scripts.
I also have NIC that uses that module and didn't notice the problem. I'll
test again:
cat /etc/modprobe.conf |grep eth |grep -v tap|sort
alias eth0 3c59x
alias eth1 3c59x
alias eth2 8139too
alias eth3 eepro100
alias eth4 eepro100
alias eth5 eepro100
alias eth6 eepro100
2. The policy: wan all DROP info was duplicated in the
/etc/shorewall/policy file
don't have that here :/
Not sure where it came from. I thought it might have been something
from my early exit from setup.
3. The default set of rules should include LAN->FW tcp 8444 for the dans
guardian log message.
you have a special button for that in the DansGuardian page, just before
the last one that says restart Dansguardian.
Ahh OK.
In regards to my issue with sarg. It is an actual problem. It was core
dumping a a call to rewind dir. A quick search of google seems to
indicate that this is a general problem ( probably relating to changes in
behaviour in glibc-2.3 ).
The gentoo folks have run into this and have patched sarg. I have applied
the patch and rebuilt and sarg does operate correctly now. Which means
that sarg is broken in 10.0

ok, thank you for this. I have applied the patch and the index one aswell
and uploaded the rpm package to my page.
have a nice day,
