Can anyone steer me to the "original" version of the 45 record "Speedy
Gonzales?" It was NOT Pat Boone! The singer certainly had a name that
resembled a somewhat common Mexican name. The words were in English with a
heavy Mexican accent. The song may have been more of a regional hit than
nationwide. I heard it in a College in Minnesota. It was quite popular
there in the spring of 1962. The single may have been pressed in the late
1950's or possibly 1960. I have been trying to locate this tune for almost
40 years!
