Sort of a German guttural Mexican accent, perhaps? <g>

Or perhaps it was an International hit, perhaps? :-)

Okay, let me lay upon your dusty memories of yesteryear the name of
"Rex Gildo." Does that ring a bell?

Rex Gildo was the stage name of a German pop star of the early sixties
and through the seventies, I believe. He had a big hit called "Speedy
Gonzales" in the early sixties. He had another hit song called "Fiesta
Mexicana," so I know he liked to do Spanish songs.

I can reference you many sites about Rex Gildo, but the problem is,
every single one of them is in German. I swear I looked hard for an
English site about him. Admittedly, I come to this report to you
somewhat hesitantly, since my conclusions are based on what I found at
those German sites and I don't actually read German. :-)

Buying this song on a CD would require you to hit the Overseas market.
Here is one such site:

Aye yi...stop the presses...I found your CD at CDNOW and at a decent
price, too. :-)

If you can manage that long URL, you are on your way. If not, just go
