I think you answered your own question.

Okay...if you created your website files on your computer and you still
have use of that same computer, aren't your files still on your
computer?

Do you still have the old computer running? If yes, why not just copy
your files to a floppy disk and then copy them to the new computer?

your new site?

The answer to that is probably not. There may be a DNS server
somewhere that has not updated their files to show your new IP for your
old host domain, but it is pretty doubtful. A long shot would be to
try ARIN.net, a database to locate information on networks, autonomous
system numbers (ASNs), network-related handles, and other related
Points of Contact (POCs):

http://whois.arin.net/whois/arinwhois.html

The only other thing I can suggest is to look and see if you can find
the original email messages the host sent you when you set up the first
account. That would have the original IP address showing.

Patti, I am sorry, but I get the impression that the first host wants
to divorce themselves from you. I would think it is a distinct
possibility that your first host has deleted your files and it would
therefore be pointless to try and access that server again.
