Hi Alan, I have version 3.12 of Paintshop Pro since I have limited system
capability, not affording the latest and greatest :-))

Here is what my W3.1 PSP help file says:

Gamma Correct Function

The Gamma Correct Function compensates for any difference in gamma levels
between your computer's monitor and the equipment that originally
produced the image.
endquote

As you can see the help file in your version is somewhat more
explanatory.

The help files and the manuals usually just describe what each feature
does, but rarely gives any tips on how to use them. For example the
v3.12 didn't explain what the setting to use for a desired effect. Also
it went into a technical description of Gamma. This is not a very good
example of what I am looking for, which is tips on the effect of how each
function should be used.

Unfortunately your instructions are for a later version of PSP!!! :-((

Thank you for your efforts,
