There really is no need for research here.  You have a right to your 
privacy and take any means to preserve that privacy.  If you are doing 
anything on the Internet that makes you uncomfortable, then back off of 
it.  We each take our own personal stance to preserve our privacy the 
best we can.

Microsoft will purport to claim that their actions are to combat piracy 
of their products.  In truth, they are simply collecting data from 
their customers for marketing purposes.

Have you filled out the form in the manner of your feelings?  Example:

Last Name = Withheld
First Name = Withheld
Address: 123 Noneofyourbusiness St.
City: Withheld

E-mail address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (see below)


Try to get the form processed anonymously, first, to protect your 
investment.  Only fill or check the parts of the form that you are 
required.  Some parts may be optional.
