The rule is stated thus:

<quoted from the Welcome Letter/Intro file>

I. You may not use the SeeknFind mailing list to promote your
commercial or personal monetary interests. Please take care that
neither the body of your posts nor your signature contain any message
that would appear to be a solicitation for a product or service for
which you have a vested interest.

Brian, the software product you mentioned is not yours, is it? By
recommending it you are not going to gain from it in any way, will you?
You don't accept money from that firm for any reason, do you?

We often recommend or reference commercial products on SeeknFind.
There is no problem with that so long as the person doing the reference
is not gaining monetarily by the product or service - either directly
or indirectly.
