Oddly enough, I had the same problem after I got my NEW exhaust and piping
installed. It was rather annoying at different RPMs to say the least. Not
too long after, I went to install my short throw shifter. Part of the
proceedure was to remove a section of heat shielding. Low and behold and
bunch of rocks fell out when I took the thing off. My curiosity was whether
the muffler place put them there so that I would have to come back for
"repairs" or if they came loose because of the new exhaust shaking them
around. Every now and again I hear some more rattling from beneath. I
suspect it's more rocks further down the exhaust piping. My next opportunity
to put my car on a lift is when my header arrives.
