When I looked in the MAF harness plug, mine was all corroded from washing the
motor. I pulled the pins out and extended new wires to the pins and
basically rebuilt the harness end, then I put electric grease inside them.
Other plugs I used a tooth brush with carb cleaner and that worked good, but
take off the plugs on all and look for corrosion, clean them and use
di-electric grease, its clear white-ish. Works like a champ and that allows
the voltage readings to be good.
I also know about the Engine temp sensor, I put 2 in! payed 34.00
forthem too! I had a problem with idle staying at 1000 rpm and my overdrive
on the tranny would not work and I knew that was it. The automatics have too
warm up to operating temperature before the 4th gear will engage and they use
the engine temp sensor to make that work. the ECU thought the motor was cold
all the time so thats the high idle and no 4th gear. Wierd but true.
Clean the engine ground or make a new one also. I bought a huge
taylor ground strap. Good engine ground are key on computer engines.
