I think the guy had a problem with the engine stalling when the AC was
turned on. For general stalling problems, I'd look at EGR, dirty
throttlebody and such. But one thing at a time.
I'm guessing his fuel filter was clogged as is, so that would explain why
his performance improvement when the filter was replaced.
I think the filter should really be replaced every year, regardless.
Mine had nasty black soot pouring out of when I replaced mine after the
previous owner had neglected to replace it for 6 years.
