SML: Clearance to Modify

Hey all.  I just got the green light to start modifying my car.  Any
suggestions on what to do first?  My guess would to be to replace the fuel
filter and the air filter with K&N high flow filters... but any help as what
I should do or what order I should do it in would be greatly appreciated. 
(And to think, I almost blew this car off on getting a '01 Cavalier Z24...
Sheesh!!!)
