<<I dread having to actually take my car into the dealership and fork
over money for them to throw parts at it.>>

My girlfriend has a bucket....I mean Saturn... that is currently in the
shop. The nice thing about Saturn is that they will diagnose your car
for $35 and then tell you what is wrong with it.

See if you can goto your local Nissan dealer and get this same price, or
even try taking it to a Saturn dealer and see if they will diagnose it
for this price. For your frustration, I think that a $35 diagnosis is
well worth your piece of mind.

BTW, for those of you who are in the MA area, the Saturn dealership here
in Lowell is huge on customer service. I haven't checked out what they
can do for my Nissan, but if your interested in a Saturn, or are
interested in buying a used car, this is the place I would go. Some of
the nicest ppl you will meet (they will make you feel good about
shafting you for a $2600 rebuild too...lol). Seriously, they are a good
group of ppl there.
