Well, nope... Havn't taken it to the $tealership yet.
I looked at pinging in the FSM and all they do is use the consult to
activate the EGR/EVAP solenoid to make sure it works. It does work cuz I
just checked myself. The solenoid is being deactivated so the EGR valve gets
vacuum, when I apply current to the solenoid it cuts vacuum off to the EGR.
Just like its supposed to.
I'm seriously considering the fuel induction thingy they had at the
dealership. I've bled my heads for the 5th time just to get every lil'
bubble out. My EGR is good. My compression is good. No vacuum leaks. My
EGR/EVAP solenoid is A-OK. The timing is good. The only thing I can think of
thats causing these problems is HEAT.
I only have pinging when its warm.
Or the engine warms up. I still think theres carbon inside the combustion
chamber. The engine was fairly neglected by the girl who owned the car
before me. When I popped off the valve cover for the very first time when I
got the car, there was sludge build up like you wouldn't believe.
If the fuel induction doesn't work, then I've pretty much narrowed it down
to the MAF. Anyone want to sell me theirs for cheap??
