<<...some days the engine is a little monster, other days it's
just...little.>>
And sometimes it is just genetics.....lol..j/k
<<My guess is that it has something to do with heat-soak, as I have been
told that the GA16's run very high oil temperatures and my car's
performance does seem to be weather-related.>>
Although I have to say that this sounds right, I have to disagree a
little.
I drive 101 miles (round trip) for work every weekend. My average speed
is about 70 mph for the hour (each way) that it takes to make this
commute.
With the tranny, clutch, and engine all at full operating temps
(probably a little higher), when I get off the freeway/highway, my
in-town driving experiences are just a little short of amazing.
Take off is a little sluggish, which I contribute to a stock clutch
w/127k miles on it (and an hour on the freeway), but that is only 1st
gear. Once the car gets into 2nd+, it's all over. My car pulls HARD.
I've never actually counted, but I am figuring that I have been to about
30 of the 50 states, all in my 200 SX. No matter how many hours I drive,
this is always true. After being on the freeway, my car is a little
monster while driving in town.
<<I bet an oil cooler might be a possible solution.>>
I'm sure it wouldn't hurt :-)
<<On the other, other hand, I might be slinging monkey poo.>>
That would make two of us :-)
