WHO THE FUCK DESIGNED THE PLACEMENT OF THIS P.O.S.!?!?!?!
I honestly think that the designer of the cooling system of my car was a
woman. For all the years that "man" designed the bra and tampon, "woman"
has gotten me back with this.
If I ever meet the person who, specifically, designed the placement of
the thermostat, I will seriously think of placing it, and the entire
cooling system, straight it their ass.....sideways...using sand for
lubricant.
For those of you who have never done this, the thermostat is located on
the passenger side of the engine, above the pulleys and below the valve
cover, inbetween all the refrigerant lines, toward the back of the
engine. It is almost impossible to get any useful tools in there, and
once they are in there, the amount of space to actually use them is
non-existent.
When I first started this, I actually thought of doing a write-up for
SOLM for this. Now that I am finished (hopefully....I'm waiting an hour
for the RTV sealant to seal...otherwise I will take it to a mechanic), I
realize any write-up that could be done by me would not meet the "G"
rating that all SOLM articles do. If anyone is actually interested in my
doing a "how-to" for the SML/archives, I'll do it, but I won't promise
to even be as civilized as I have with this post.
However, I will be posting on my website within the next week, with the
same parental advisory as this post has.
All I can say is that if you plan on doing this and you're not a
masochist, sadist, or some other form of "twisted-as-fuck" mental
capacity, take your baby to the shop and let some guy you've never met
(and hopefully won't again after having him do this) do the job. It's
not worth the aggravation.
