There are differences in the Hotshot CAI for the GA16 compared to other
brands. It has a stepped diameter. This was found by accident, it did not
calculate out. We were just fooling around on the dyno and found that it
helped the CAI gain a few HP over a standard setup.
The math said 2.5" tubing should work so we tested 2.5" and 3". Then we
tried different combinations of 2.5" and 3" sections just for kicks and
discovered the stepped pipe where it is 3" before the MAF and 2.5" after
gives the most power and the broadest range.
Sometimes dyno testing can tell you more than just figuring it out on paper.
BTW, We will be testing the prototype JWT cams next week.
