I have a question that some of you can answer for me. First off I own a '91 Sentra E
(4 DR) B13. It's all stock except for a K&N Filter, half-decent brakes, barely used
tranny (had fifth gear problem) and Hyper-White Performance Bulbs. It has the
clear-coat problem that many of you may have noticed on some our grey
coloured(Canadian) cars. Anyway, it's got about 185000KM on it and I was wondering if
I should push it hard. The engine is still silent. The last 40K were all highway
driven and have had Synthetic oil used. Since I don't currently have a tach installed
I have know way of knowing if my limiter is working. It should be, it's just when I
reach about 50K on first gear it feels the car starts stops pulling. I think this is
because my clutch sucks(It's a cheap Canadian Tire replacement). I plan to do an
instrument cluster replacement so that I can have the stock tach. After that long
explanation, should I try reaching the rev. limiter without installing a tach?!
(or would this just be detrimental to the engine, as I may blow it). I can't really
afford to have it go on me cuz the tranny just cost me $1K (cdn). My second question
is about sound systems. I have a Pioneer DEH-6000P CD (45wx4), Sony Xplod Speakers in
the front doors (6" Vocal + Tweeter) they are split using a Sony X-over, I have
Kenwood 6x9 three way speakers in the trunk. I was wondering if I could move them up
to the stock position cuz the stock are 6" (actually I don't think this car had stock
rear speakers to begin with cuz the install looks "custom" and they were Sony
speakers). Pinning the two 6x9s is a sub box with 2 x MTX 12" Subs (currently only
getting 150W each cuz they are in stereo and one my original 12" 8ohm's died so the
replacement was a 4ohm, I plan on sticking the 8 ohm back in and making it mono
achieving my max output of 600W rms. It's powered by an MTX PRO300X2 amp. Anyway the
question with this is how have you guys with the kickass stereo sys!
tems reduced rattling? It's a bitch cuz when I turn up the base I can hear the
glovebox shaking along with the trunk resonating. This is one of the reasons why I
haven't put the third 12" in. Any and all help on these two questions would be
greatly appreciated. BTW: Do any of you know any bodyshops that are willing to do
slight dent repairs and a respray at a decent price. My last quote was something like
$2.5K cdn. I'm currently not looking at any major performance mods cuz they are too
expensive right now and the tranny was a totally unexpected experience. This car has
treated me great, it has only two other previous owners, one of which is directly
related to me and did not drive like I do. I really tend to take it to the limit, but
the cornering performance is very limited. I have not yet been challenged by any
Honduhz, maybe cuz they don't think I would want to race. I have only been challenged
once and I must say this lilttle 1600cc engine really kicked that V8!
's ass. I know that his car was probably stock but I must say for a stock Sentra; it
performs. Anyway, I'm just rambling on. Thanks again for taking the time to read

forgot. Any ideas on getting the windows to roll up smoothly again? :)
