I don't personally use NOS, but so long as your engine is healthy, you 
should be able to use a 50hp shot without any problems. Ideally, you would 
want to get the JWT NOS-controller ECU, although it may not be available 
yet. The real advantage of using an ECU that knows you are squeezing is that 
you can actually optimize the spark and fuel curves instead of using a 
ghetto-rig solution like retarding the base timing and put a fuel pressure 
riser on the car. You wouldn't do that with a turbo, why do it for NOS? 
Anyway, you don't absolutely need an ECU, but I think you would probably 
want to go with colder plugs, and if you have the money, an ignition box 
that can retard your timing for you, so you don't have to monkey with your 
distributor all the time. Aside from maybe some extra gauges to monitor 
bottle pressure, etc, that's really about all you need, I believe.
