Yes, yes, yes. The SE-R list does this, and I think it's a good idea.
However, I think the location of the archives should be made way more
obvious. I personally didn't know about them until I had been on the list
for several months. Once that's taken care of, I believe that we should,
like the SE-R list, make and enforce a policy of checking the archives
before posting a question.
>Why do
>you guys ask the same questions over and over again, RIGHT AFTER THEY HAVE
>BEEN ANSWERED? Is it too hard to READ the posts?
To reinforce this point, I made a point of bitching about this, and even
made a general insult about the readers of this list in a post. Not a
*single* person posted a response, except for Scott. This list has become
laughably bad, and I personally blame every single one of the brainless,
high-school, street-racing ricer idiots that is on this list.
>We need more Nissan enthusiasts in this world and the best way to
>get more is through this mailing list. But at the rate its going, things

Agreed, 100%. I am in Kentucky, where the import tuner scene is small but
growing, and everyone knows about fucking Hondas and fucking VTEC, but
practically no one knows about the potential of Nissans. And if they do get
curious, and find this list, what kind of impression do you think they will
leave with? Not a very good one, best case scenario. Contrast this with the
SE-R list, which is basically overflowing with engineers, long-term
performance veterans and actual honest-to-god racers, who race on real
tracks under sanctioned rules, not on the street like most of the ricer
pussies on our list. They don't even allow street-racing posts, whereas we
have fucking idiots actually encouraging such garbage. These people make me
sick--Do you know the risk you are unnecessarily subjecting both yourselves
and innocent bystanders to?
*Please* prove me wrong, guys. Respond to this post and make a case for all
of the above being untrue. Read the archives, read SCC, read your Haynes
manual, absorb the wealth of information that is out there, research your
questions, learn basic mechanics and physics, learn why and how certain
parts make power and others don't, forget about all that ricer crap, grow up
and become a real enthusiast OR get the hell off this list and go buy a
Civic--you can rice those out way more than a Nissan anyway.
