Don't know for sure about this one, but I do know you don't want the 
transmission to run low or completely out of oil. The tranny would probably 
suffer massive damage if it ran dry or real close to dry.

If you have a garage and any mechanical experience at all, you can almost 
certainly do this yourself. I don't believe it's a hard job, it just takes a 
while and requires attention to detail.

This is a serious pain-in-the-ass of a job, so $200 is not really all that 
bad a price. You could *probably* do this yourself, if you had the tools and 
facilities, but you probably wouldn't want to. Everyone I have ever talked 
to about this job hates it.
