The speed limiter is to prevent you from exceeding the limits of the tires 
your car came with.

There is NO WAY that a OE rev limiter can react fast enough to prevent 
engine damage from a high rpm mis-shift!

No.Your warranty wouldn't be honored because you abused the motor.

That's a different scenario. Your friend could have taken that $tealer to 
court and prevailed. In order for the $tealer in that situation to deny the 
warranty,he would have to prove that the mods caused damage to the 
transmission.
