We are trying to incorporate an early warning score into our EPIC record, using NEWS, having a Best Practice Advisory(BPA) fire to the nurse for scores>7. Has anyone had success/experience trying to capture the change in the warning score from one assessment to the next? We are also concerned that our VAD patients as well as our lung transplant population may trigger the BPA with each assessment - has anyone had experience using an early warning score in these populations?
