Central Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: Good Day Let’s not forget that the proposed Sepsis-3 definition has NOT been endorsed by the American College of Chest Physicians, Infectious Disease Society of America, ANY of the Emergency Medicine Societies nor ANY of the Hospital Medicine Societies. In fact, the American College of Chest Physicians has issued a strong statement against the Sepsis-3 definition in a manuscript called “New Sepsis Criteria: A Change We Should Not Make” and calls for reconvening the conference with a broader base of constituents, including hospitalist and emergency medicine physicians. I do think this last iteration of sepsis (Sepsis-3) will undergo more research and modification before its endorsed by more of the major medicine societies and CMS.
