We are now doing electronic sepsis screenings on our ED patients with automatic
labs, including blood cultures, on patients that screen positive. I wanted to
know if anyone could share their data on what percent of patients that screened
positive for sepsis actually went home and were not admitted. We are finding
that about 20% of our population that screened positive for sepsis are going
home. Are screening parameters are : Suspect infection "Yes" with 2 of the
following: Alt LOC, Temp <96.5, Temp >100.4, HR >95, SBP <100, MAP <65, RR >22.
