Part of my problem was that after I loaded it, all my gems "disappeared". Actually they're only good on the "system" ruby. So ... I'd have to reinstall all of them. I'm not sure, for the amount of development I do, that it's at all worth doing that. Like you said, if I had multiple ruby versions that I needed to test (e.g. as gem developer) then it might seem pretty cool.
