I'm still seeing this error "Communications link failure" even after making the changes as you suggested. Any other suggestions I should try.
You may have to restart your mysql server after updating my.conf with interactive_timeout=xxxx.
Are you using persistent connections on the client side ?
Attached, is the full error messages from the log file and also a copy of my vdb config. Please check and let me know if you see anything on the config that I should change to get it to work properly.
