Thanks for the point to IETF. I have subscribed to iCalendar list and
will work from their baseline to see how it works. I did not succeed in
finding Address Book functionality, though. If it's there, please let me
know. If not, I'll see if I can get one started.
I think that address book maintenance is VITAL to any mail application.
Mail simply isn't that useful without it. I feel that this would be an
important addition to JAMES. I would be interested in other opinions on
this.
Calendar functions have always been integrated in mail applications and
you need e-mail to send out invitations to a meeting. While technically,
this does not belong in a mail client, you mail-client has to hand off
to a calendar server and you still have to build this in, so why not
build in the calendar function? JAMES already supports 4 protocols. I
would be interested in hearing other thoughts about this.
