Sorry, sometimes (most times) what is obvious for me isn't obvious for you and viceversa ;-)

So your
suggestion to:

"svn cp v2.3 next-minor"

would lose commits in next-minor that are not present in the v2.3 branch.
Nevermind. I'll continue to review diffs.

This is what happened between 2.3.0 and next-minor
493999 8-gen-2007 10.43.28 2 norman Rename v2.3 branch to

- 488141 18-dic-2006 7.56.42 1 norman Add comment for mail.smtp.localhost option. See JAMES-735 - 488138 18-dic-2006 7.51.21 2 norman Revert fix i commited for heloname usage in RemoteDelivery. This fix is not needed cause its possible to set the heloname with <mail.smtp.localhost>some.host.name</mail.smtp.localhost> . Backport needed changes from trunk. (Thx Stefano for reporting). See JAMES-735
- 487546 15-dic-2006 14.09.39 2 norman Backport fix for
JAMES-735.
- 475204 15-nov-2006 12.20.56 8 bago Fixed a bunch of broken links on the new website (JAMES-691) 470929 3-nov-2006 19.01.35 5 noel JAMES-592. Trunk has a more involved fix (doesn't use a static method), but the call stack would be the same. We use dnsjava for host name resolution, rather than populating the InetAddress cache.

I think that in v2.3 all but r470929 was merged
494041 8-gen-2007 13.20.55 8 norman Copy xml files from next-minor to 2.3 branch for backport previous commits r469117 and r475204
494056 8-gen-2007 14.15.03 2 norman Merge fix for JAMES-735

r470929 is the famous patch voted down for v2.3, I'm sure you remember.

Stefano
