Thanks a lot Stefano...The reply was not updated on forum when I sent you my reply. I can see your reply now on the forum.
Your inputs are indeed very valuable. I'll definitely explore the options you have suggested. Would you have any information regarding the configuration changes required (any document or link to some site) that would help me try out your suggestions? (such as using DB based stores or changing to NTFS file system.) We are currently using Oracle as back-end for our application. Can same be used for the DB based file stores? Considering the robust nature of Oracle, it would definitely support such high number of users and would also be scalable. My message was destinated to the list and I simply also added you in CC because you asked "You can drop a mail to my mail ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]". > Regarding your reply... > Assuming that there is no limit imposed by JAMES, would still there be > any limit imposed by operating system depending upon how it stores > user/ alias information? So please advise from that point of view. Use db based stores. It is easy to configure and should solve your issue. In JAMES Server 2.3 we bundle derby that is an embedded data base. Otherwise if you move to NTFS file system you won't have the 65000 file limit (NTFS supports 4 billion files per folder IIRC). Btw I suggest to use databases. I would probably use an external mysql or postgresql so to be able to do direct db administration, but this is a matter of preference.
