hummm,
With our model, servlets(JRUN) and the webserver (NES 3.61) on NT which talk to the
mainframe via IBM MQ messaging to CICS-COBOL-VSAM files programs, our response time is
quite fast. Once the data from the HTML form hits the servlet, the results are
returned from the mainframe in 2-3 seconds.
Maybe as a suggestion, I would put plenty of timestamps in your program so that you
can determine if it's the communication between the applet-gateway, gateway-CICS,
CICS-DB2, CICS-gateway, gateway-applet, or the applet-browser displaying. Just a
thought...

Hi,
I have been using the IBM Gateway, and I daresay I am not very
happy with the speed... I have applets which communicate with the
servlets which in turn invoke cics-cobol-db2 programs...
