I for one would like to hear what people have to say. We are evaluating
different servlet engines and while we are leaning towards JRun, I'd like to
hear what others have to say before I commit my company.

I'll put it why I like JRun, so as not to be a "me too".

* support for many different webservers / operating systems - I work for an
ISP and we never know where we will end up. We would rather not scrap
everything and start again.
* pricing model - we run multiple we servers off a single box. We only have
to license JRun for the physical box, not per webserver.
* setup and administration - I understood it and can explain how to do it to
someone else.
* CF_Anywhere - their Cold Fusion Anywhere product has us intrigued.

Subject: servlet engines

What is the feeling about available servlet engines?

I see a lot of people use Apache/JServ combination and others use JRun
or ServletExec with other web servers. I tried JRun and ServletExec and
had some problems with both but I would appreciate any suggestions as to
what else is out there or what you currently use.

I plan to deploy on Enterprise 3.6 (NT or HP-UX).

If you want you can e-mail me directly as not to clutter this mailing
list (unless of course you think that your suggestions are helpful to
all).

Thanks,
dav.e
