Not to muddy the water, but you should also take a look at PostgreSQL at
www.PostgreSQL.com (both PostgreSQL and mysql are very good, but not quite
the same range of features -- though both should be sufficient to handle the
needs you've outlined). Choice is king in the Linux world!
