The only Java2 platform I'm aware of that runs under Linux at all well is the
Blackdown "pre-alpha" release. It operates for a while, but has memory leak
and native thread issues (among others) in a server environment.

This situation will change once Sun's (recently announced) Java2 port to Linux
is available. I'm sure you will see stable Linujx JDK 1.2 (Java2 is really a
marketing term) releases from other vendors as well. In the mean time, I
deploy my Linux based applications using the IBM 1.1.8 JDK.
