Put the images in directory where your normal web browser will find them...

eg

        htdocs/imgages/pic1.jpg

and refer to them in the HTML code you generate from your servlet as

        "/images/pic1.jpg

forget the .

1.)   my jpeg problem is not yet solved . i was not able to display the
images thru servlets. someone who has faced this problem help me to
solve it .
   my code is placed in examples dir and images in examples/images /
i refer to them as
<body background=\"./images/backgnd.jpg \"> - no use .
servletrunner says
"servlet not found : images "
