Using Javascript has the distinct disadvantage of needing Javascript.
I'd use the proposal someone mentioned, namely have a sort of
"callback" on the reply page. But instead of using onLoad, I'd use a
<img> request to a servlet, which does not work in only two situations:
a) user has disabled image loading (unlikely), b) user is using lynx
(which has no Javascript anyway, afaik).
