If your backend is Oracle, then you should look at Oracle's bc4j for
persistence and framework bits. This will help determine other parts of
your systems framework.
If you intend on using EJB, then the server you choose there can also effect
you framework. Inprise, Oracle, etc. all have EJB servers with varying
levels of persistence layers that come with the container.
So, it depends a little on what you are doing and what features are
important to you. You might find that the persistence layer and security
sub system you use will narrow your choices significantly.
