You can get SetiDriver at http://www.wakeassoc.com/setidriver/
There are other tools, but this is my preference. I guess you will have to
look at all the options you get and make a gut decision. :)
Firstly, you process more WUs by NOT using the screen saver and using the
CLI version instead. There is much debate on this mailing list on whether
is try or not and on what hardware etc etc.
My main reasons for using a cache program are:
1, My computer is left on 24x7 - my dialup internet connection is not. By
having a cache I can process a new WU after completing a WU without waiting
to connect and download the new one first. When I do connect to the
internet, I get the cache refreshed replacing completed WUs with new ones.
2, Using a caching program (well this one anyway), I can process WUs in
parallel. Useful if you have a multi-processor computer.
3, It does not matter when my ISP is cheesing me off.

I've been on the mailing list for awhile, but I'm just a casual user. I
saw some people on the list saying they cache WUs. How do you do it, and
why? I know there are some extra little applications floating around out
there, but have never taken the time to research them in depth. I've been
running SETI@Home for about two years and can't recall an outage that was
this long. Thanks.
