| Dear TAB,
Thanks for all your inputs and assistance, I was finally able to implement client drive mapping as well as local printing at the client side, by enabling WINS on both Windows 2003 and SGD. The problem was due to NETBIOS name resolution.

Check this with castle:/ # /opt/tarantella/bin/tarantella config list | grep wins array-cdm-wins: 1 castle:/ # Now decide what you want. Without WINS: /opt/tarantella/bin/tarantella config edit --array-cdm-wins 0 /opt/tarantella/bin/tarantella stop cdm /opt/tarantella/bin/tarantella start cdm With WINS (what is better and has nothing todo with WINS on the network) Enter your SGD Server in the Network Preferences on the W2K3 Server Look at my (german) Screen shots: Allgemin=gerneral Erweitert=Enhanced- hope this helps TAB Harish Sarkar schrieb: Thanks Tim, I am not at the client side right away, but I should be able to answer some of those questions. SGD Version is 4.2, the enhancement module is the same as that of SGD. I have confirmed this personally. We are using Mozilla 1.7 on Solaris 10, & IE 6 with the latest version of Java Runtime Installed on W2K3 I believe that WINS is not enabled anywhere in the network. We can reach both systems using short names, as well as their FQDN. Well the message I send is the one that I found in the Event Viewer of W2K3. I will be in my office for the next hour, so give more information and I´ll try to help. send ./tarantella version. Is the enhancement module the same version as the SSGD Server? Did you try to set the drive mapping in the objectmanager directly at the users object? If you login w/ Browser, press the "?" and look on "Detailed information useful to help diagnose problems", what value do you have on "user name". Is this a user in the Objectmanager, which has explicit drivemapping configured? You can send the whole Information, if you like. Or is it a common profile. After any changings, did you relogin with the Browser/NC? What do you use NC/Browser und WXP/Linux/Solaris? My confusion is, that you have a dynamic WINS name in the network path. This is, when you have WINS enabled in the Arraymanager. Never mind. I will use this everytime, but I also include the SGD Server in the WINS Tab on the W2k3 server. One more thought. Do you have the SGD servername (short name) (not the external DNS name) in W2k3 etc/hosts ? The message you send is from the w2k3 Logfile, right. Could you send more in that. TAB Harish Sarkar schrieb: Well we haven't changed any settings as far as WINS is concerned. I have followed the default installation procedure, the same way in which I have set it up at different sites. The SGD server authenticates using Active Directory. I can login using local accounts on the Windows 2003, as well as those on Solaris. The problem is still the same, it just does not map any client drives. We have restarted SGD & the Windows 2003 boxes several times. The CDM process is running on the SGD. ("Z:" "\\C0A800320001\Drive Z for Administrator"). So it seams for me, you played with wins and everything is not well initalized? Did you did a restart= ./tarantella stop cdm; ./tarantella start cdm; Other thing is, that your have in the W2k3 login profile a net use command? What happens, if you does login in the W2k3 Server as a local user? TAB Harish Sarkar schrieb: Thanks Tim, Both machines are on the same network, with the same subnet. The WINS is disabled on Windows as well as on SGD. There is no firewall between the two. On 20-May-06, at 6:48 PM, Tillmann Basien wrote: >From your logline I can see, that you enabled WINS. So my question is, are these server on the same subnet. If not, you need to set the names of your SGD Server into the WINS Tab in the advance properties of the Windows Terminal Server. Other problems I had in the past, was a firewall between the SGD and W2k3 Server. If this is the issue, log into the logfiles to see what ports are descard. If this still does not help. Do a snoop on the line to see what kind network traffic you have. TAB Harish Sarkar schrieb: I am unable to get my client drive working at one of the installations. The settings on the SGD server are fine. The user logging into SGD is authenticated via Active Directory. There are no errors or warnings logged on the SGD server nor on the the enhancement module for windows, when its enabled in the debug mode. However, on further analysis of the Event Viewer application on Windows 2003 I have got the following error message. All services are enabled on the SGD server. The system can resolve both forward and reverse lookups. A network component has not started, or the specified name could not be handled. ("Z:" "\\C0A800320001\Drive Z for Administrator") Any assistance will is highly appreciated. This is extremely urgent. Thanks, Harish _______________________________________________
