Thanks for all your inputs and assistance, I was finally able to implement client drive mapping as well as local printing at the client side, by enabling WINS on both Windows 2003 and SGD. The problem was due to NETBIOS name resolution.

SGD Version is 4.2, the enhancement module is the same as that of SGD. I have confirmed this personally.
We are using Mozilla 1.7 on Solaris 10, & IE 6 with the latest version of Java Runtime Installed on W2K3

We can reach both systems using short names, as well as their FQDN.

Is the enhancement module the same version as the SSGD Server?
Did you try to set the drive mapping in the objectmanager directly at the users object?
If you login w/ Browser, press the "?" and look on "Detailed information useful to help diagnose problems", what value do you have on "user name". Is this a user in the Objectmanager, which has explicit drivemapping configured?
You can send the whole Information, if you like.
Or is it a common profile.
After any changings, did you relogin with the Browser/NC?
What do you use NC/Browser und WXP/Linux/Solaris?
My confusion is, that you have a dynamic WINS name in the network path. This is, when you have WINS enabled in the Arraymanager. Never mind. I will use this everytime, but I also include the SGD Server in the WINS Tab on the W2k3 server.
One more thought. Do you have the SGD servername (short name) (not the external DNS name) in W2k3 etc/hosts ?
The message you send is from the w2k3 Logfile, right. Could you send more in that.

So it seams for me, you played with wins and everything is not well initalized?
Did you did a restart= ./tarantella stop cdm; ./tarantella start cdm;
Other thing is, that your have in the W2k3 login profile a net use command?
What happens, if you does login in the W2k3 Server as a local user?

If not, you need to set the names of your SGD Server into the WINS Tab in the advance properties of the Windows Terminal Server.
Other problems I had in the past, was a firewall between the SGD and W2k3 Server. If this is the issue, log into the logfiles to see what ports are descard.
If this still does not help. Do a snoop on the line to see what kind network traffic you have.
