One additional thing.... The one thing I do -NOT- want to see happen to STN, is for it to become "bloat-ware" If you want that, there's always M$, W2k Server as a PDC, and ISA.
I have several "other" contenders for the "linux-gateway/proxy-in-a-box" laurel.. and (IMHO) STN _CRUSHES_ the competition in one major way. It almost flies out of the box onto the floppy. The install borders on trivially easy. The requirements are almost non-existant. You can almost run the buggar off of a transistor radio, a nine volt battery, and a prayer! I have the others. They do all kinds of wizz-bang things. So what. I want a gateway that will get me on my cable. Do effective NAT, handle my occasional VPN request to my job. And keep the Bad Boys out.
