The first of the two error messages is the relevant one here, the second one
is a side effect. The server denies your access. There may be many causes
for this, you may be able to get more information from the server's event
log. The most likely:
1. Maybe you must specify a domain with '-D'. The server may be member of a
different domain.
2. You really mistyped user name or password.
3. The password was last updated from a DOS or Windows for Workgroups
client. I have only recently learned that NT/2k can't update the password
database properly in this case.
4. The server is configured to reject NTLM authentication. This turned out
to be the cause of Paul Derwent's problems connecting to a Windows 2k
server.
