Or what? Tell TraumaPony's mommy on him?

You quoted TraumaPony. Who's verbiage, though I'm not sure I completely
agree with, didn't "bad mouth" anyone. And maybe its like showing up on a
Linux forum, and saying Minix has been around longer. If you have confidence
in your project, then it shouldn't offend you. And if it sounds offensive,
no one else reading the comment will respect it.
Thats common sense.

Honestly: two things. Licensing, and IL2CPU. The rest is just "I think my
penis can be larger than yours" stuff, on both sides, that only evolved
*after* the "split".

Unfortunately, being a significantly more open project than Cosmos has been,
we have alot less control over our "members". Specifically, TraumaPony is
new around here, (and is more than welcome to stay a while), and you can't
possibly expect a mass e-mail to our mailing list, complaining about one of
our fans / future-contributors, is honestly going to make *anyone* look
good.

In all fairness, I think when people compare SharpOS to Cosmos, most of the
time people are using C# as a binding common quality, as well. If I wanted
Smalltalk or House, I would jump in a DeLorean. And Singularity, with its
custom languages, is a bit out of consideration as well, isn't it?
And since our projects are sooooo incredibly similar, publicity for either
is an event for both. I think its reasonable to say that one of our projects
is capable of ruining the reputation for both of our projects, so I think
its only fair to help make sure that guests to either know about both.

Oh, but whether you admit it or not, we are all in this together. So when I
see a false statement about one project or the other, (and I haven't seen
any for Cosmos yet, except in the self-conflicting interview with
Obsethryl), I have an honest need to correct it. So when I see someone say
Cosmos is "the first" - when I know it isn't, I would certainly correct it.
(But notice in TraumaPony's case, TraumaPony was just blindly volunteering
the information.)
And, considering that the internet is a public forum, I think its also
reasonable to occasionally to throw in some personal opinion every now and
then. (And when I do, I try to phrase it as such.)
What gets me, is that on the Facebook Fan Page for Cosmos, the first thing
posted to the wall, was a reprimand at Cosmos for its decision to go its own
path. And the statement was made by a person with a name that I do not
recognize from either of our communities.
So, according to your level of concern (which I think is a bit
unreasonable), it seems you might be getting negative publicity all on your
own?
You have wiser people than you, at your project. And I'm willing to bet you
didn't consult them before belching at the SharpOS mailing list. And if you
had, I can imagine you would have been told that if you have faith in your
own project, you won't directly complain to the other about publicity. It
just inflates the illusion that there is some sort of war going on.
So stop feeding the fire and pass me a marshmallow.
