Oh, I think you have me a bit misunderstood. I don't think you would
purposefully deny anyone access to the Cosmos list, (does *anyone* really
like spam?) And the Yahoo network seems oddly full of *alot* of spammers.
And I would like to say that since anyone can subscribe to the SharpOS
mailing list, (and it is more trouble than it is worth to track who is /
isn't), it makes it easier for people to get involved - it wouldn't be true.
My only beef is the difference in level of difficulty in getting to an IRC
channel, versus getting to a Skype channel that I understand takes a
Windows-only plugin of some sorts. (Heresay only.)
But I'm not (or at least wasn't) trying to openly criticize you for your
choice of tools - you have to use what you feel helps your team most get the
job done.
So I guess what I'm saying is, its easier for people to wander into SharpOS
because of our communication channels. (And mostly just IRC in that
respect.) And because its easier for people to wander into SharpOS that way,
it also makes it less realistic to blame the SharpOS mailing list for any
specific SharpOS-newbie's behavior.
But no, I wasn't trying to make an assertion or criticism about any possible
communication's moderation steps you may or may not be taking. I was more
defending the group against a blanket accusation that was poorly presented.
(He should have been more specific, i.e. just TraumaPony, or more generic -
any believed egregious behavior by SharpOS as a group.)
