These cars definitely do exist. From what I found, in
1991 the IROC and Shelby differed only by their
powertrain. The IROCs were V-6 cars and had the 16"
pumper wheels on it. That means they had CS
centercaps, so the Shelby logo AND IROC logo were on
the same cars in 1991 as well. But seeing that the
DODGE centercaps are interchangeable... maybe they
didn't come with CS centercaps?
The Shelbys were 2.5L turbos with the same 16"
pumpers. Never did a Shelby logo'd car have a V-6,
with the exception of maybe the centercaps mentioned
above.
As for 1992, I wonder if ALL 2.5L turbo equipped
Daytonas had Shelby Logos on them. They all
definitely had IROC logos though. Or were the IROC
Shelbys the executive cars we speak of? I have a 1992
sales brochure for the Stealth, Spirit, Shadow and
Daytona. Nowhere does it mention Shelby anywhere in
it. Strange.
I know all about the 1992 2.5L turbo cars, and how
rare they are. I have a '92 GTC convertible with the
2.5 turbo and a factory 5spd. Transmission numbers
match the VIN. I never checked the block though.
Also, using parts from a '92 2.5 turbo Daytona, I
created the only 1992 Daytona ES turbo in existence.
