Its mid-engined, like the Fiat X-1/9 (which is one of the better handling mid-engined sports cars ever built for the common person) Some of the trailing throttle over-steer problems can be dialed out with proper chassis tuning and driver training. Though the overgrown VW bug-turned sports cars (aka 911's) require a lot more driver skill (read: luck) to get around the problems inherent in the design.
However, my guess is that in stock form the ME 3000 probably did have some over-steer tendencies due to the big V6 shoved into the engine bay combined with typical British engineering of the time (as in there wasn't much money available to pay for good engineers). With a 2.2 Turbo it probably isn't as bad. I had no idea that car existed. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if it has the similar snap-oversteer issues of other rear-engine cars of that era. I'll volunteer to find out. > To: Shelby Club > Subject: SD> AC Mid-Engine Shelby > > > Here are some of the photos I took to share with you. > > http://polybushings.com/pages/AC3000ME.html > > > Johnny Spiva > PO Box 4283 > Coos Bay Oregon 97420 ___________REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING_________ ShelbyDodge mailing list [email protected] http://www.imagilist.com/mailman/listinfo/shelbydodge
