The problem I had with a different bar from FWD-P on my '86 Daytona was
twofold:

1) The bar didn't clear the intake on the top of the early T1 draw-through
throttle body. The plastic snout and rubber duct sit too high. I'm not
sure if your's has the same problem.

2) The bar didn't clear the drain box on the hood vent, as you said.

I've since switched to a T2 setup, but I still can't clear the vent drain
box. I've been thinking to make my own, I'd have to make a strut mount
with some extre plate to move the bar forward. I'd have to take a
measurement again, but I think it would overhand the front of the mount by
about an inch. Moving it back is not an option for most because the box
has a gutter that directs the water behind the turbo, however moving it
forward still wouldn't help if you have an early T1 unless the bar was
raised as well.

The other option is to have a bar that runs along the firwall and have a
trianglular brace to the strut tower. That would not be as stable,
though.
