I did build shoes by hand with DEBUG=1 using the binary deps (building
it from macports packages lead to a weird error when trying to actually
run shoes).

That went quicker than expected. Simply adding :width => 1.0 to the Not
shown stack was enough to trigger the draw. If there's some gdb work
you'd like me to do, feel free to lead me.
