ShopTalk: SWB hosel depth

Bernie or anyone else that has experience with these heads, I am getting ready to build a driver with this head and just realized that the hosel depth is 2" deep. Is this right? Was I suppose to receive a plug of some kind? Is it a good idea to install a trimmed piece of a .335" X 1/2" long  to reduce the insertion depth so the shaft will play softer? TIA Pat McGoldrick On Target Golf
