Thanks Mac, and TFlan That clarifies it for me. I went with the R400. Also thanks, Dan, going to go with the XDS2Pro. And thanks to all those who gave me suggestions on why my irons were too high. Moved the ball back in the stance a bit and focused on hitting the ball lower. Boom - 25 yard back. It's only been 4 rounds so I hope it stays. Interesting, the accuracy was perhaps a bit better when I hit it extremely high. But in Idaho the wind is usually blowing, and therefore, I needed the lower ball to be manageable and par 3's into the wind were impossible. Due to the several favorable reports, just got the SRVII and a TT80. Dave T (I think that's the combo you use), how long will the combo be in to achieve D-1 swingweight. Just curious if I need a tip weight. Thanks again everyone, you are all great. Brian

For each flex there are four or five weight categories, i.e., R100, R200, R300 R400. An R400 is a couple of grams heavier than a R300 which is a couple of grams heavier than a R200, etc. If you were to get a set of tapered shafts for a 3 iron through PW in the R300 flex then all of the shafts should be within one or two grams of each other regardless of the length differences. I think we can thank Ben Hogan for that as that was one of his design parameters that he gave to True Temper in the early days. While the R400 will be just a tad stiffer than a R300 (by one or two cpm) it will not be stiffer than a S200. I went through that confusion in my very early days thinking that an X100 would be just a tad stiffer than a S300 but not as stiff as a S400. Boy was I ever wrong. Rich "Mac" McHattie Mac's Golf
