Royce: I’m
not sure where you have gotten this impression but I don’t think the
issue is one being out of spec, but fitting a set of clubs to a golfer’s
swing. Also don’t know that I have seen the folklore and legend you make reference
to. What I’ve seen is data and I assumed it was valid. IMHO it’s a fitting
question not a spec’s question. Don Johnson -----Original Message----- I may get shot for
heresy...but I think that for 99% of golfers, a lie/loft adjustment is
unnecessary. Lie/Loft machines are impressive, but I don't often see clubs
that are so far out of spec that a lie or loft adjustment would make a
difference to the golfer, other than between his/her ears. I think
there's this macho thing about bending clubs that appeals to folks.
Of course, there's also a lot of folklore and legend about lie and loft, which
doesn't help. I have an older frequency
analyzer - an FM Precision model, and built an NF2 a couple of months
ago. Still working on comparisons and calibrations between the two, but
I'll guarantee you I can sort, match and mark trim points on a set of shafts a
helluva lot faster with the NF2. The NF2 also does a super job of
identifying NBP's, and I've now gotten almost anal retentive about NBP
alignment. Given that you can build
an NF2 for under $100, I'd get one of John Kaufman's Club Scouts AND build an
NF2. Then you've got both bases covered. IMHO.... Royce
