Yes.  I always (knock on wood) get good performance and a consistent match
when I use N @ 9, S @ 3 alignment for Type 1. Think Dan said he does, too.

I don't like the hard side of the shaft down, so if I get an N1 on the wrong
side of the S1, I'll probably use the S1 at 12 and the N2 at 9. Or, if the
spine wasn't huge, I might look for FLO near the spine plane and align that
to the target. I know for me, that will result in a few more draws than
fades (tested that) and though it might not work for some players, it's an
option for me. There's probably a tighter impact area with the weak plane
aligned at target and S1 at 12, where it is more effective in reducing toe
bob on the downswing. Am strictly guessing, but would be an interesting test
for me to try someday. Someone has probably done that test, too.
